Love Learning May

Love Learning May is West Lothian HSCP's campaign to encourage staff to engage in learning and continuing professional development within their roles.

As a partnership, West Lothian Health and Social Partnership has the opportunity to upskill and educate its staff. This is a real opportunity to ensure that HSCP teams are aware of the different adult skills offers, and that they take advantage of the courses and qualifications available.

Speaking to staff, Alison White, Director of West Lothian HSCP, said: "Love Learning May is about how we support staff across the Health and Social Care Partnership with their learning and development needs.

"That might be from mandatory courses we're developing, from Continuing Personal Development, or other sorts of skills and courses that you might want to do to enhance what you're already delivering in your service areas."

West Lothian HSCP believes that CPD is an essential part of it staff development as it enables individuals to reinforce and enhance their current skills while reducing any knowledge shortfalls.

Throughout May the organisation is asking staff ensure that their CPD is up-to-date and to engage in learning opportunities available to them. The campaign is also asking to staff to ensure their mandatory compliance is up to date along with any online learning.

There will be several drop-in and digital events hosted throughout the month giving staff advice on how they can engage in learning.

West Lothian HSCP also wants feedback from staff about what learning and CPD would benefit them in their current roles.

Alison added: "Love Leaning May is really important to us as a Partnership. This isn't just about enhancing our own skills and development and what we can do, but it's also about how we're enabled to provide a better service for the people and communities of West Lothian."

There will also be case studies and information on our communication channels highlighting opportunities available to staff across all departments.  More information will be added to West Lothian HSCP website and social media channels in due course.
