West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership welcomes new Head of Health

Yvonne Lawton has today (Monday 27 June) taken over as West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership's Interim Head of Health.

Ms Lawton has replaced Fiona Wilson, who has recently been appointed as Director of East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership.

Alison White, Director of West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership, said: "I am delighted to welcome Yvonne Lawton as the new Interim Head of Health for West Lothian HSCP.

"She is an experienced leader and well known for delivering high-quality health and social care services, along with excellent working knowledge of West Lothian communities.

"Yvonne brings with her a real commitment to innovating and creating services that help people to flourish.

"She will be a great asset to the HSCP team as we continue our efforts to provide the very best in health and social care for West Lothian."

Ms Lawton's initially joined West Lothian Council in 2002, working in Education Services before moving to Social Policy. She served as Head of Strategic Planning & Performance for West Lothian HSCP for 3 years before receiving promotion.

As Interim Head of Health, Ms Lawton will be responsible for primary care, community, and mental health services across West Lothian, along with the pan-Lothian hosted services of podiatry and the Lothian Work Support Service.

Upon her appointment, Ms Lawton, said: "I'm absolutely delighted to be appointed to the role of Interim Head of Health for West Lothian HSCP.

"The current aim for West Lothian HSCP is to recover from the harm of the pandemic and in my role, I want continue to build on the good work already being done in West Lothian.

"My aim is to support staff and ensure that West Lothian HSCP places service users at the centre of everything it does.

"I will concentrate on developing services which enable people to receive high quality care and treatment as close to home as possible, draw on the strengths of partnership working and which make a difference to outcomes for people across West Lothian."
