West Lothian HSCP encourages all staff to take part in seasonal flu vaccination programme

West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership is inviting all eligible staff to get their free seasonal flu vaccination.

Vaccination

There is evidence flu is already circulating in Lothian, with flu season likely to begin earlier than in previous years.

West Lothian HSCP is recommending that staff get their jabs as soon as possible, before the winter season kicks in, so they are well protected.

Health and social care staff have priority for appointments between now and Sunday 18th September, making it easier to get your vaccinations early.

Flu can cause serious illness, especially to people who are already vulnerable. The flu vaccine will give you, and those around you, the best protection from the virus from this winter.

We are also offering staff who are eligible, either as frontline health and social care workers or under other criteria, the COVID-19 winter booster. COVID-19 vaccine immunity wanes over time, so it's important to top up your protection when offered this.

All clinics will be delivering flu vaccinations and COVID-19 winter boosters.

It's quick and safe to get both vaccines at the same time so, if you're eligible for both, you can get these in one visit.

Clinics are taking place now within hospitals and existing vaccination clinics across Lothian. In West Lothian clinics can be accessed at St John's Hospital, Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Carmondean Health Centre and West Calder Medical Centre.

Appointments can be booked now via the online booking portal or by calling the National Vaccination Helpline on 0800 030 8013.
