Clozapine Clinic, OPD6
The Clozapine Clinic is a Nurse Led clinic run by both East and West Community Mental Health Teams at St Johns hospital. Based in OPD6, St John's Hospital it provides local service users who are on Clozapine medication, access to Point of Care testing through local analysis with the PocHi blood analyser.
While in clinic the staff review the service users mental and physical health. Nursing staff provide information on Clozapine to Service Users and advise and monitor any side effects from the medication. Following a 'Green' result from the blood analysis service users will be given their supply of medication which is ordered by clinic Nursing Staff.
Service users may be seen within the clozapine clinic and/or in the local community to provide holistic care by their allocated Community Mental Health Team worker.

- People aged 18 - 64 years old
- People aged over 65 years old

Days and Times
Appointments will be given in advance for either Tuesdays or Wednesdays and the service user can attend by drop in between:
- 8.30am to 3pm (closed 12-1 for lunch and housekeeping)
Referrals
Usually from inpatient wards when people are started on clozapine medication.
Open referral access from multi-agencies.
