Clozapine Clinic, OPD6
The Clozapine Clinic is a Nurse Led clinic. Based in OPD6, St John's Hospital it provides local service users who are on Clozapine medication, access to Point of Care testing through local analysis with the PocHi blood analyser.
While in clinic the staff review the service users mental and physical health - monthly recorded routine observations are sent to the service users GP.
Any concerns are brought to the attention of the Lead Professional involved with the Service User.
Nursing staff provide information on Clozapine to Service Users and advise and monitor any side effects from the medication. Following a 'Green' result from the blood analysis service users will be given their supply of medication which is ordered by clinic Nursing Staff.
